Dreamcatcher Workshop
Cree8 will be hosting a Dreamcatcher workshop – Sunday, February 1, 2026
![]() |
History of the Dreamcatcher Dreamcatchers are a Traditional Indigenous art form found predominantly in Lakota, Ojibwa/Anishinaabe, Navajo and Cree culture. The weaving catches the bad dreams and nightmares entangling them within the web. The good dreams flow through the web and slide down to the feathers to the dreamer. In the Morning, the bad dreams and nightmares entangled in the web evaporate in the sunlight, just as drops of dew on a spider’s web. The feathers take the hopes and dreams on the wings of the bird’s spirits to the Creator. We will begin with a traditional welcome and smudge. Chantal will be your guide, instructing how to create your Dreamcatcher step by step. Chantal will share the story of the Dreamcatcher and the deeper meaning behind the legend, each aspect and the teachings they hold. We will bless our Dreamcatchers upon completion with the smudge. |
