Cree8 will be hosting a THREE-DAY drum-making, drumstick & song workshop - February 24, 25 & 26, 2017

Friday, February 24, 2017
Drum-Making
6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Blessing ceremony, smudge and teachings.
Cutting the hide and soaking overnight.

Saturday, February 25, 2017
Drum Making
1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Opening prayer and smudge.
Sharing stories, legends & history of the drum.
Making and stringing drums.

Sunday, February 26, 2017
Drumsticks & Songs
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Drumming Circle, Drum Opening Ceremony & Potluck Feast
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
All are welcome to attend the Potluck Feast and Grandmother Moon Ceremony.
Please bring food to share and dress for the weather.

*We will have coffee, tea, water, juice, and snacks.  Let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Materials:
Drums
Rawhide – Deer, Elk, Moose, Buffalo, Reindeer, or Goat for the drum face
Black Bear Rawhide – Please add an additional $50 to cover cost difference
Lacing – Rawhide (Precut)
Drum Rounds – 8”, 10”, 12" or 14" Yellow Cedar
Larger Drum Rounds – Please add an additional $50 for 16” or 18” rounds, $75 for 20” or 22” rounds, $100 for 24” or 26" rounds, $125 for 28” rounds, and $150 for 30” rounds to cover the costs of the extra materials required.

Sticks - Different sizes and types of wood to choose from
Mitt - Deer Leather/Suede
Batting – Wool
Sinew – For stitching
