Chantal Chagnon and Cheryle Chagnon-Greyeyes will be hosting a THREE-DAY 
Drum-Making, Drumstick & Song workshop
May 16, 17 & 18, 2014

Friday, May 16, 2014
Wild Rose United Church
1317 – 1st St. NW
Drum-Making - 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Blessing ceremony and smudge and teachings. 
Cutting the hide and rawhide, and soaking overnight.

Saturday, May 17, 2014
Wild Rose United Church
1317 – 1st St. NW
Drum Making - 1:30 - 6:00 pm
Opening prayer and smudge.
Stories, legends and history of the drum.
Making and stringing drums.

Sunday, May 18, 2014 
Chateau Chagnon
1940 – 26th Avenue SW
Drumsticks & Songs - 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Potluck Feast - 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Grandmother Moon Ceremony and Drumming Circle - 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Materials:
Drums
Rawhide – Deer/Elk/Moose/Buffalo for the drum face
Drum Rounds – 8”, 10”, 12" or 14" yellow cedar
Lacing – Rawhide (Precut)

Drum Sticks:
Sticks - Different sizes and types of wood to choose from
Mitt - Deer Leather/Suede
Batting – Wool
Sinew – For stitching

We humbly request $200/drum for instruction and materials.

All are welcome to attend the Potluck Feast and Grandmother Moon Ceremony on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Chateau Chagnon, 1940 – 26th Avenue SW (bring food and dress warm!).

    Hi Chantal, thanks so much for the invite. I just registered. What a great way to send the long weekend. I was wondering if it would be possible to bring my daughter and perhaps my husband so he can take care of her. :) Lol, they probably would only come to one or two sessions. I think I might miss them too much. :) If not no worries I completely understand. Thanks!
