Chantal Chagnon and Cheryle Chagnon-Greyeyes will be hosting a THREE-DAY drum-making, drumstick & song workshop – October 16, 17 & 18, 2015

Drum-Making - 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Blessing ceremony, smudge and teachings.
Cutting the hide and rawhide, and soaking overnight.

Saturday, October 17, 2015
King George Masonic Hall

Drum Making - 1:30 - 6:00 pm
Opening prayer and smudge.
Stories, legends and history of the drum.
Making and stringing drums.

Sunday, October 18, 2015
Chateau Chagnon, 1940 – 26^th Avenue SW
Drumsticks & Songs - 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Potluck Feast - 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Grandmother Moon Ceremony and Drumming Circle - 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Materials:

Drums
Rawhide – Deer, Elk, Moose, or Buffalo for the drum face
Drum Rounds – 8”, 10”, 12" or 14" Yellow Cedar
Larger Drum Rounds – Please add $50 for 16”, 18” or 20” rounds to cover costs of the additional materials
Lacing – Rawhide (Precut)

Drum Sticks
Sticks - Different sizes and types of wood to choose from
Mitt - Deer Leather/Suede
Batting – Wool
Sinew – For stitching

We humbly request $250/drum for instruction and materials.
